JDK 24 / 25 support

It looks that the new LTS Java will be released very soon in the middle of September, wondering if the support is planned / implemented?

In settings for metals can see 2 options:

It states: "Should be greater or equal to the JDK version used for the project (look: Java Home)."

When I open my project (some modules require JDK 24), the workspace appears 'dead' in Metals, telling that modules fail to compile, however manual compilation in sbt works.

So was wondering if I bumped into some issue with Metals OR JDK 24 is just unsupported for the project?

We should be able to use 24, but we don't test it. We could at least run some tests on it until 25 is out

In the meantime we should be fine to add latest stable option scalameta/metals-vscode#1741

Seems to be working (+ I switched build server to sbt in settings, without it was still dead)

Now my project seems to be alive and working in vscode + metals.

Default Bloop server should get restarted automatically, if not there could have been some issue.

yep, was not restarting, or was restarting and immediately dying.
I'll to create a sample project to reproduce.
