What does this do? There is no changelog or code associated with it across the whole codebase.

I had this same question a week ago or so, and rom what I understand it's the current auto mode default from Perplexity. They changed it a while ago to prefer better models when people were getting sick of it defaulting to sonar all the time. The original auto is still exposed by perplexity and the plugin just shows it as an option.
