Max of 10 Language Server Instances

Seems like there is a max limit of 10 language server instances. Primarily opening this to track for now, not sure if we can take any action at the moment.

The linked issue describes a possible solution with workspace folder. The Language Server will support this in the future:

I guess it’s possible to achieve this by creating a ServerDescriptor with a list of roots

Sadly, IntelliJ does not support workspace/configuration for the moment.
So every config change will apply to every workspace.

If I have a monorepo with Oxlint installed in each sub package, wouldn’t I still need to run one language server for each sub package? Otherwise, the Oxlint versions in each sub package may not be the same. (While this may not be how monorepos are intended to work, it’s completely possible.)

I guess I don’t really understand the workspace folders use case and how it is intended to resolve this problem.

In VSCode there is oxc.path.server configuration and will apply to the global editor (window).
So we must use one language server (if possible). VSCode comes with the language_server binary (and uses it as a fallback?).

The language server will handle each workspace/package folder as its own project. With an own root project and oxlint config.
Instead of spawning for each workspace/package an own language server, tell the language server the roots, and it will separate them on its own.
