Compatibility of magick-wasm v0.0.35 in WebView – SyntaxError in Chrome 83 and Below with Vite Build

Hi, I have a question:

When using @imagemagick/magick-wasm version 0.0.35 inside a mobile app’s WebView, what is the minimum supported browser version?

I’m trying to support Chrome 83 and below, but the code gets stuck at:

await initializeImageMagick(wasmBytes)

The project is bundled using Vite, and in Chrome 83, it throws the following error:

SyntaxError: Unexpected token '='

How can I resolve this issue? Is there any way to make it work with Chrome 83 or older?

That version is from 2025 and a lot has probably changed in the those years. I don't know how to get it working with that ancient version of Chrome and I also don't have the time to investigate that.
