Specifying which Photo library or folder to use?

Hi, and thanks for putting this together.

I was going to give this a shot, but I have a lot of pictures from different family members across different photo libraries, but I imagine I wouldn't want to be scanning all the pictures every time I add new photos, nor would I want to scan pictures that aren't tagged.

Any chance that this allows me to select a path to scan, or specify a specific Plex photos library? The path to scan is probably easiest, but I thought I'd ask.

Also, I take it that it would import any XMP face tags such as Picasa's, and not just the ones from TTP?

Hi,
the way it works is that it will get all directories to scan based on the photo libraries defined into Plex.
it will then scan all jpg files, get list of persons from the tag PersonInImage, and insert the tags into Plex.
it does the update only when the file is more recent than the date it was scanned by Plex.

I am using it with 58000 photos, works like a charm on Win10 64bits.
I do not now where Picassa puts face names.

You may modify the source exif.js and search for line:
if (Object.prototype.hasOwnProperty.call(tags, "PersonInImage"))

This is where the list of faces is obtained.

Thanks - that's a great explanation.

As for where Picasa puts face names, it's in a XMP attribute that I can't seem to easily retrieve from JS (xmp:regionname, any ideas?), but running EXIFTool manually I can move it to PersonInImage and then it works as intended. Thank you.

I will submit a PR for this as (at least for me) there was an issue with the first run, since you are only creating the TTP columns after the first scan, but the first scan will search for those columns (B.TTP_updated_at as FaceUpdateTime, B.Place_updated_at as PlaceUpdateTime), causing the program to crash. Running the AddXXX functions prior to that scan fixed it for me.
