Adding this package to non-gnu ELPA

Hello to anyone watching this repository 😄 👋🏽

I would like to get this package included in the NonGNU ELPA package repository. As far as I know, I would just need to submit the source repository to the emacs-devel list and it should be good to go.

However, there's been an push lately to move away from GitHub, as it is not a good/ethical citizen in the free software world. If there are no objections, I plan to fork this repo over to sourcehut or codeberg and serve the package (to ELPA) from there. I understand that people may feel this is a barrier to contributions, so I wanted to give some space for discussion.

Very little of minitest-emacs is work I've contributed to personally, but I use it daily and have an interest in keeping it alive and well in the Emacs ecosystem. Please add your opinions to this discussion, thank you!

I agree, imho, sourcehut has better CI story (for one one can ssh into the failed runner to debug) and a collaboration story that requires more upfront setup. You can collaborate from their WebUI, but they don't really advertise. Codeberg has a familiar collaboration story and a worse CI story (they have two options Woodpecker CI and an actions based one). So my vote would for for sourcehut.

@PuercoPop - I appreciate the input! I've been intending to get back to this soon, I've got a change for some regexp in the compile mode that is broken. This package does have some tests which feel worth keeping so a choice with some CI is a good one. I currently have a sourcehut account so I may just start there, the contributions are very few and far between so losing the "PR" UX doesn't bother me too much.

Let me know if there's anything else we can do to improve the package, glad you're out there using it :)

I did end up making some changes to appease the byte-compiler and my personal taste (ej. removing the dash dependency), the only user-facing feature I changed was removing the appropriate-mode-p (https://git.sr.ht/~puercopop/minitest-emacs/commit/a032e48d5d7e252cd80cfa615898d48cfe52c58c). It interfered with the toggle between test and implementation functionality as the minitest-mode was not present in non _test.rb buffers. another way around it would be to keep that feature and add the keybinding to the ruby-mode as well.

I'll wait for the package to move to sourcehut to send the patch in case there is interest

Just got this set up. I'd be happy to accept a patch, there's a lot of the code that hasn't been touched for years :) removing dependencies and fixing compiler warnings sounds great.

Any discussion or patches are welcome. My short term plan is to fix the few compile issues and perhaps remove the reference to Zeus, then tag a release for nongnu-elpa / melpa stable. any other development can continue on branches and merges to main will update melpa.
